The Royal Hawaiian, one of California’s oldest Tiki-themed bars, reopened under new ownership after a closure in 2022. The redesigned space pays tribute to Tiki culture and the bar’s original 1947 establishment. With original artifacts scattered throughout, including lamps, mugs, and dioramas, the restaurant showcases its rich history. The 22-seat bar is a highlight, featuring over 20 illuminated shelves displaying an impressive collection of rum bottles, mugs, and glassware. The cocktail menu offers both classic Royal Hawaiian originals, like the Mai Tai, and contemporary modern cocktails, with a diverse selection beyond rum and gin, such as a unique Paloma variation.

The Lost Inferno

Hey You Guuuyys! You gotta check out The Lost Inferno in San Clemente. They take you on a journey to the Goon Docks of Astoria in this shipwreck themed bar that pays homage to The Goonies with a cocktail menu packed full of rum (and more) with names like the Chester Copperpot, Hey You Guys, Blue Astoria, and One Eyed Willy. If a pirate’s life is for you, be sure to stop in. This one is a bar only — no food here, but you can head upstairs to their Japanese-themed speakeasy for sushi!
