
The Vans US Open of Surfing is one of the biggest annual events in Orange County, drawing approximately half a million viewers every year. Downtown Huntington Beach has hosted the event since 1959. The surfing competition has transformed into one of the biggest extreme sports festivals in the nation, featuring world-class surfing, skateboarding, and BMX competitions.

Stoke – O-Rama
A free, youth surfing celebration on July 27th hosted by Positive Vibe Warriors Foundation and created by the Gudauskas brothers with the goal of promoting youth water safety and ocean education programs. The event will be held at Tower 3 and is open to the first 100 Huntington Beach residents. Divisions are 12 and under, 10 and under, 8 and under, and Pops and Pups. Registration is from 7:00 am 0 8:15 am and the contest will take place from 8:30 am – 3:00 pm.
Duct Tape Festival
The Vans Joel Tudor Duct Tape Festival makes it’s first appearance in Huntington Beach with this years US Open. Internationally renowned surfers are invited to share their own collection of custom, hand-shaped surfboards which can be rented by spectators. Boards will be on display and available to rent all week and will become a part of Jack’s Surf Shop’s permanent collection.

Surf City Nights
Downtown Huntington Beach’s weekly street fair and farmers market. Check out the fresh produce, products by local artisans, enjoy crafts, games, and other kids activities, food trucks, and more. Event is held on Main Street from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Tuesday, July 30th.
2019 Surfing Walk of Fame Induction Ceremony
Inductees for 2019 are Sam Hawk, Janice Aragon, and Kai Lenny. Ceremony will be held on Thursday, August 1st at 10:00 am at 101 Main Street.

Free Shuttle Service
It’s not easy to get in and out of Downtown with your own car during the US Open of Surfing. Check out the free shuttle service instead:
Shuttle runs Saturday and Sunday, July 27 & 28, 2019 from 10:00 am – 7:00 pm and Saturday and Sunday, August 3 & 4, 2019 from 10:00 am – 7:00 pm. The shuttle runs every 30 minutes and the last shuttle will leave downtown at 6:30 pm.
