With summer comes exciting outdoor events in warm and sunny Orange County. There are a variety of summer concert series’ at parks and other venues around the county so that family and friends can gather, enjoy a picnic, and dance away the evening. Here are some Orange County Summer Concert Series’ you wont want to miss.
Buena Park Summer Concerts take place every Wednesday Night from June 6 – July 18 at Boisseranc Park located at 7520 Dale Street. The concerts continue from July 25 – August 29 at Buena Park Downtown located at 8308 On The Mall Avenue. All concerts begin at 7:00 p.m. New for 2018, Boisseranc Park celebrations will include a drum circle from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. for children and adults to bring their own instruments and take part in a large circle, making music, dancing, and enjoying the outdoors. The Buena Park Pop-Up Library will be present at all Boisseranc Park concerts so that children can check out books and earn their way to fun prizes through the summer reading program. Some of the musical guests that will be sharing their tunes this summer include, Uptown Funk, Surfin’, Pop Gun Rerun, Scot Bruce, and Paperback Writer. Spectators will enjoy sounds from the 80s, Bruno Mars, Elvis Presley, The Beach Boys, The Beatles, and much more.
The Costa Mesa Summer Concerts In The Park will take place every Tuesday in July. The concerts will be held at Fairview Park, located at 2525 Placentia Avenue. The live music begins at 6:00 p.m. but there are also a variety of other activities that begin at 5:00 p.m. Come out and get food from the food trucks, enjoy activities for children, browse the booths from community organizations, and relax in the beer and wine garden. Come out and enjoy music from The Fenians, Flashback Heart Attack, Desperado, and Tijuana Dogs.
The Cypress Summer concert series is held at Cypress Civic Center Green located at 5275 Orange Avenue. Concerts are held every Saturday night at 6:00 p.m. from June 9 – August 4. There is no concert scheduled for July 28th. There will be arts and crafts available for kids beginning at 5:30 p.m. Concert attendees will enjoy hearing music from L.A.Vation, Hit Me 90s, The Skinny Little Twits, The Wiseguy Big Band Machine, and Redneck Rodeo. Light refereshments will be available for purchase at the events, and no alcohol is allowed.
The Garden Grove Summer Concert Series will be held at Eastgate Park located at 12001 St. Mark Street. Concerts will take place on Thursdays from 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. Show dates are July 12, July 19, July 26, August 2, August 9, and August 16. There is a bonus concert on June 27 that will be held at the Elks Lodge of Garden Grove with special guest Stone Soul. Events will include free kids activities and weekly giveaways. Food will be available to purchase from gourmet food trucks. Musical guests at the Garden Grove Summer Concert Series include DSB, The Answer, The Funky Hippeez, Arnie Newman’s Country Club, Flashback Heart Attack, and L.A. Vation.
The Huntington Beach Concert Band Summer Series runs fro eleven weeks on Sundays from June 24 – September 2. Concerts begin at 5:00 p.m. and are held at the Thomas Ridley Central Park Concert Bandstand behind the Huntington Beach Central Library. The address for the bandstand is 18000 Goldenwest, but there is parking near the library which is located at 7111 Talbert Avenue. Enjoy the sounds of bands like Night Blooming Jazzmen, Ginger & The Hoosier Daddys, the Huntington Beach Concert Band, and more. Latin and swing dance lessons will be held from 4:15 p.m. – 4:45 p.m. on July 15, July 29, August 5, August 26, and September 2.
Laguna Beach Music In The Park will take place on Sunday evenings from July 15 – August 26. Live music will be played from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at Bluebird Park located at 798 Bluebird Canyon Drive. Musical guests will be announced on June 20th.
Laguna Niguel Summer Concert Series takes place on select Fridays beginning June 8 from 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. Concert dates are June 8, June 22, July 13, July 27, and August 10. There will be a special concert on Wednesday, July 4 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. The concerts will be held at Crown Valley Park Amphitheater located at 29751 Crown Valley Parkway. A shuttle service is available from City Hall at 30111 Crown Valley Parkway. Dinner and dessert will be available for purchase from food trucks on location beginning at 6:30 p.m. Musical Guests will be The Smokin’ Cobras, Aeromyth, The Suffragettes, 80z All Stars, Jukebox Productions, and The Answer.
The Los Alamitos Music & Movies Event Series includes three dates at three different locations. Saturday, June 23, the concert will take place at Laurel Park located at 10862 Bloomfield. Concert-goers will enjoy music by Reckless, a five piece classic rock cover band that plays tunes from the 70s, 80s, and 90s. Music will last from 6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. and will be followed by the movie, The Lion King. Saturday, July 14, the concert will be held at Orville Lewis Park located at 3662 Kempton. Music runs from 6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. and will be played by La Sirena, a latin band specializing in salsa, merengue, and latin jazz. The music will be immediately followed by the movie, Coco. Saturday, July 28, the concert event will take place at Little Cottonwood Park, located at 4000 Farquhar. Music will be provided by the band, Sugar Lips, a cover band that plays all genres of music from the last 50 years. Music will last from 6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. and will be followed by the Leg Ninjago Movie. The Los Alamitos Concert events will include children’s activities, raffles, and food and drinks will be available for purchase.
The Newport Beach Summer Concerts On The Green is presented by the City Arts Commission. The Newport concerts are held once a month during the summer at the Newport Beach Civic Center located at 100 Civic Center Drive. Concerts begin at 6:00 p.m. and end at 7:30 p.m. Gourmet food trucks will be available to purchase food, or bring a picnic dinner. The concert series kicks off on Sunday, June 17 with Matt Mauser, A Celebration of the Music of Frank Sinatra. The Springsteen Experience will perform on July 15. Tijuana Dogs will perform on August 12, playing a mix of rock, pop, jazz, country, and R&B. The series wraps up on September 9 with Desperado, the #1 Eagles Tribute Band.
The OC Parks Summer Concert Series is a series of 10 concerts that take place at multiple locations throughout the summer. The free concerts will take place on Thursday evenings from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. from June 21 – August 23. The parks that will offer the summer concerts are Craig Park, Mason Park, Irvine Park, Mile Square Park, and Salt Creek Beach. Musical guests include Donovan Frankenreiter, Big Bad Voo Doo Daddy, Stone Soul, The English Beat, Flashback Heart Attack, Sweet & Tender Hooligans, The Fenians, The White Buffalo, and more.
The City of Orange will host concerts in the park from June 20 – August 15. The summer concerts will take place every Wednesday from 7:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. Concerts will be held at the Hart Park Bandshell located at 701 S. Glassell Street. Musical guests will include Knyght Ryder, for your favorite 80s music; Smooth Sounds of Santana; Stone Soul, for classic motown and soul sounds; The Trip, playing top 40 rock hits; and Hard Day’s Night, a Beatles Tribute Band. There will be no concert on the 4th of July.
San Juan Capistrano summer concerts in the park are held at the Historic Town Center Park located at 31852 El Camino Real. The events will include live music, dancing, local restaurants, business expo vendors, children’s activities, beer, and wine. Concerts are on Wednesday evenings from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on June 20, July 18, August 15, and September 19. Musical guests will be Soultry, Arena, Doo-Wah Riders, and the Trip.
The Seal Beach summer concerts will take place on Wednesday evenings near the pier at Eisenhower Park. Concerts will kick off on Wednesday, June 27 and run through August 8. Concerts are from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Musical guests for the Seal Beach concert series include Mike Physick Band, LAvation, Stone Soul, The Emperors, The Reflexx, and Escape. Come out and enjoy the sand, surf, and the sounds of summer.
