For added adventure, participate in Radiant Rides, the starlit stand up paddle board adventure. The SUP experience allows adventurers to see wildlife that normally is in hiding under the sun. Guests can book and rent online.

Newport Dunes Waterfront rents all-electric Duffy Boat Rentals for the whole family to enjoy all year long complete with overhead canopies and window enclosures. The boats are essentially silent and allow for a relaxing day under the sun or a party on the water. Guests can also roast s’mores around Newport Dunes’ public fire pits which are available on a first-come basis and s’mores kits can be purchased from the onsite market.

The Future and Conservation

The resort is celebrating over 60 years in business and is looking towards the future. With that, they have joined the Sustainability in Hospitality Movement which puts stress on the hotel industry to be environmentally conscious.

The Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort and Marina partnered with Wetlands and Wildlife Care Center, Newport Bay Conservancy, and the Pacific Marine Mammal Center to develop new ideas in the hotel industry to become more sustainable for generations to come. From this, the resort has moved to become paper-conscious and move digitally whenever possible.

Every aspect of the hotel’s operations has been shifted to be environmentally conscious. The resort has various initiatives to conserve, including an Organic Initiative which aids in promoting animal and human welfare through non-toxic, recyclable and biodegradable products, this includes organic produce and food, ethically-raised meats, and low carbon footprint practices.

Four R’s Initiative reiterates recycling and includes reducing the amount of waste, reusing containers, paper and recharging batteries, recycling materials and using items that are biodegradable as well as regrowing through replanting trees. The resort restricts barbecues, grills and glass on the beach or grass to maintain clean air quality. Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort gives back to the community by donating a percentage of every reservation to charities.
