Ahh, Southern California Resort Life. The weather is perfect almost year round, and we've got some of the best destinations just a short drive away. From winter mountain cabins to summer beachfront resorts, you'll find it all right here in SoCal. Of course everyone flocks here for our resorts and easy access to beaches and amusement parks. Which Resort Pools Sell Day Passes?

Check before you go: Pool and slide hours, height minimums, day pass availability and prices change by season and by date, and pools close for maintenance and renovations. Confirm with the resort before you drive out.

Orange County

Disney's Grand Californian Hotel

Disney's Grand Californian Hotel has three pools, all for hotel guests only. The Redwood Pool has a 90-foot waterslide that winds around a giant redwood stump, plus a Mickey-shaped children's pool and a whirlpool. The Fountain Pool is known for its turtle fountain, and the circular Mariposa Pool has its own whirlpool. Cabanas can be rented, and there's a full-service spa on site. Slide hours vary, so check before you go if the slide is the main reason you're booking. It's all a short walk from Disneyland.

Disneyland Hotel

The E-Ticket Pool is the centerpiece here, with two Monorail waterslides: the Orange slide is about 25 feet high and 180 feet long, and the Yellow slide is 13 feet high and 80 feet long. Younger kids get a two-lane mini slide and splash area, and grown-ups can soak in the Mickey and Minnie spa whirlpools. There's also the D-Ticket pool for swimming laps, private cabanas, and, at The Villas at Disneyland Hotel, the Palette Pool with a Steamboat Willie splash area. The pools are for hotel guests only, who get wristbands for access.

The Waterfront Beach Resort, a Hilton Hotel

You're just steps from the beach here, but you may not want to leave the pool area. The Driftwood Beach Club has two waterslides (48-inch minimum), a large pool, a sandy poolside beach area with fire pits, and private cabanas. The Huntington Tower Pool has ocean views, a whirlpool, and private cabanas. Non-guests can buy day passes for either pool from the resort; ResortPass listed passes from $90 as of October 2026 (prices vary by date). After a day at the pool, head out for a walk to the Huntington Beach Pier.

Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach Resort & Spa

There are two pool areas with hot tubs and cabanas at Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach: Mankota's lagoon-style pool and Slyders Water Playground. Mankota's is the spot for lounging in the sun, while Slyders has three waterslides for the kids. You're steps from the sand, but the slides may win out. Day passes are sold through ResortPass, from $56 as of October 2026 (prices vary by date).

Hyatt Regency Newport Beach

Set on 26 acres with hundreds of palms and succulents, this resort sits by Newport's Back Bay rather than on the beach. There are three pools: the family Oasis pool with a waterslide and splash zone, the adults-only Indulge pool if you want to relax sans children, and the quieter Serenity pool. Day passes are sold through ResortPass, $56 as of October 2026 (prices vary by date).

Montage Laguna Beach

The pool area at Montage Laguna Beach looks out over the Pacific. The Mosaic Pool has a new Italian ceramic pool deck, a whirlpool, a children's pool and play area, and poolside cabanas. Adults can also swim at the ocean-view lap pool at Spa Montage, which is adults only. Both pools are for registered resort guests only.

The Resort at Pelican Hill

The Coliseum Pool at Pelican Hill is a perfect circle, 136 feet in diameter and just 3 feet deep, holding 380,000 gallons of saltwater. The bottom is decorated with 1.1 million hand-cut glass mosaic tiles, and the pool deck looks out over the coast. The pool is for resort guests.

Renovation note: The Coliseum Pool closes for enhancements beginning November 2, 2026 and is expected to reopen in late February or March 2027. The resort's Bella Vista pool is set to return around January 2027. During the work, resort guests can use the Villa Pool, which has a whirlpool and a children's pool. The resort stays open and is slated to become the first St. Regis Estate in fall 2027.

VEA Newport Beach, a Marriott Resort & Spa

VEA's Edge Pool is 85 feet long, lined with lounge seating and private cabanas, with views out over Orange County. The heated pool has a whirlpool next to it and the Edge Bar for drinks, and there's sometimes live music. SPA VEA has its own dedicated saltwater pool. Marriott lists the pools as being for hotel guests.

Waldorf Astoria Monarch Beach

The Waldorf Astoria Monarch Beach has three pools. The Monarch Pool faces the ocean and is open to all ages, with two infinity-edge spas, private cabanas and daybeds. The South Monarch Pool has a graduated entry, which makes it easier for little ones to wade in, plus its own circular spa. There is also an adults-only Spa Lap Pool that can be accessed with the purchase of a spa treatment.

Bonus: Great Wolf Lodge

Great Wolf Lodge is built around a 105,000-square-foot indoor water park kept at 84°F, so you can spend a whole day splashing in the wave pool, floating the lazy river, or dropping down the waterslides, whatever the weather. There's a splash and play area for younger kids too. Non-guests can buy Half-Day and Full-Day passes. If you'd rather be outdoors in summer, Wild Rivers in Irvine is another water park option.

Beyond Orange County

Harrah's Resort SoCal

Harrah's has two pool areas. The Main Pool, with fire pits, daybeds, cabanas and a swim-up bar, is 21 and over. The 400-foot Lazy River, with 30 jets, is the all-ages spot.

Heads up: The Lazy River closed on October 5, 2026 for a "Funner Refresh," and Harrah's hasn't announced a reopening date.

The Hollywood Roosevelt

The Hollywood Roosevelt is a historic Los Angeles hotel, frequented in the Golden Era by the likes of Marilyn Monroe, The Beatles, Charlie Chaplin, and more. The Tropicana Pool is on the list because of its bottom: David Hockney painted the underwater mural in 1988. The pool is heated and open 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Non-guests 21 and over can buy day passes or reserve loungers, while cabanas are for overnight guests.

Grand Hyatt Indian Wells Resort & Villas

Formerly the Hyatt Regency Indian Wells, this desert resort is home to the HyTides Water Park: two 30-foot dueling waterslides (48-inch minimum), a 450-foot lazy river, a splash pad, and the Lil Vista slide for kids (42-inch minimum). Adults who want a quieter afternoon can head to the adults-only Oasis Pool.

Hyatt Regency Mission Bay Spa and Marina

This San Diego hotel has lagoon-style pools with three waterslides (42-inch minimum on the two larger slides), a separate children's pool, a hot tub, and private cabanas. If the pools aren't enough water time, the on-site marina offers water sports rentals through partner Overwater. Day passes are sold through ResortPass, $22 for a half day or $45 for a full day as of October 2026 (prices vary by date).

La Quinta Resort & Club

La Quinta Resort & Club has 42 pools spread across its grounds, so there's usually one close by. Families gather at the Main Pool, and adults have PLUNGE, the adults-only pool experience at the Renker Pool.

Omni La Costa Resort & Spa

This Carlsbad resort has eight, yes eight, pools to choose from. The Edge Adult Pool & Terrace is exclusively for those 21 and over, so if you want adult time, this is where to go. Splash Landing has two 100-foot waterslides (48-inch minimum, or 42 to 47 inches with a life vest), a toddler slide, and a family pool. There are also two Garden pools, a Villa pool for villa accommodations, and the Spa Courtyard pool for spa guests. The pools are for resort guests and members only.

Omni Rancho Las Palmas Resort & Spa

This Omni resort near Palm Springs has multiple pools. Splashtopia, for resort guests only, has a 425-foot lazy river, two 100-foot waterslides (42-inch minimum), a cliff-side hot tub, and a sandy beach area. The Conchilla Valley Pool has a shaded splash pad, eight VIP cabanas, a gaming cabana, and a bar and grill. If you want to escape the kids for a bit, the Azure Pool is for adults only, and spa guests get the spa pool, which has underwater music.

Paradise Point Resort & Spa

Paradise Point is San Diego's getaway at Mission Bay on a 44-acre island with gardens, lagoons, and one mile of sandy beach. You'll also find five heated swimming pools here. The Main Pool is the largest and the best fit for families. The other pools are the Lagoon Pool, the Adult Lagoon Pool (18 and over), the Meadow Pool, and the Waterfall Pool. Park Hyatt Aviara Resort, Golf Club & Spa

Park Hyatt Aviara's pool deck has two levels. The family Splash Pool has waterslides (riders must be at least 42 inches tall, and kids under 48 inches wear a hotel life vest), and the adults-only Ocean View pool sits above it with views toward Batiquitos Lagoon. Cabanas can be rented at both pools, and day passes are sold through ResortPass.

Terranea Resort

Terranea sits on the Palos Verdes Peninsula with coastal views and four pools. The 5,000-square-foot Resort Pool is the family spot, with a 140-foot waterslide, splash pad, poolside games, and cabanas. The Vista Pool and hot tub are reserved for guests 13 and over, Cielo Point is the 21-and-over pool, and the 25-meter Spa Pool is for spa guests. Non-guests 21 and over can buy a Cielo Point day pass, and the spa sells a Spa Day Pass ($150 Monday through Thursday as of October 2026; prices vary by date).

Town and Country Resort

The draw at Town and Country is Twister, a four-story, 150-foot looping waterslide (riders must be 48 inches tall or pass a swim test). There's also a zero-entry Main Pool, a Kids Pool, and the Tiki Pool. Pool day passes are sold to non-guests.
