The annual free OC Tết Festival celebration will take place on February 9 to February 11, 2024 on the Freedom Hall Lawn at Mile Square Park. The Year of the Dragon will celebrate new beginnings, good fortune, and prosperity, and will feature live entertainment, cultural performances, lion dances, firecracker ceremony, food vendors, and carnival rides.
In the Vietnamese culture, the Lunar New Year, also known as Tet, is the most important celebration of the year. Families gather to express respect and remembrance for ancestors and celebrate the hope and renewal of coming opportunities.
Each Lunar New Year is associated with one of twelve Zodiac animals, which are commonly associated with certain personality traits.
2024 is Year of the Dragon. People born in the year of the dragon are considered to be known for their strength and success, with exceptional leadership qualities. The dragon can also bring fortune and honor.
