The annual free OC Tết Festival celebration will take place on January 20 to January 22, 2023 on the Freedom Hall Lawn at Mile Square Park. The Year of the Cat will celebrate new beginnings, good fortune, and prosperity, and will feature live entertainment, cultural performances, lion dances, firecracker ceremony, food vendors, and carnival rides.
In the Vietnamese culture, the Lunar New Year, also known as Tet, is the most important celebration of the year. It is a time for families to gather and express respect and remembrance for ancestors. It is a celebration of hope and renewal that symbolizes the opportunities ahead.
Each Lunar New Year is associated with one of twelve Zodiac animals, which are commonly associated with certain personality traits. 2023 is Year of the Cat. Cats are considered to bring auspiciousness and prosperity, and can rely on spiritual power to neutralize bad intent.
