It’s almost time for the Lobsterfest at Newport Beach. It’s the 13th anniversary of this annual community event, and every year it gets bigger and better. Organizers are expecting 500-700 people and plan to serve 1700 Maine lobsters from Anderson’s Seafood flown in the day of the event. The event is held on the beach under the trees at the Newport Beach Civic Center Park.
Note: No new event has been announced since the last event in 2021. Check out the The Original Lobster Festival that takes place at the Fountain Valley Sports Park typically in September.
Lobster lovers will enjoy dining on fresh Maine lobsters, served whole, claws, tails, and all. If you’ve never enjoyed lobster before, place mats with step-by-step instructions on how to eat lobster and use the claw crackers are provided. In addition to lobster, participants will enjoy delicious meals that include fresh salad, grilled New York Strip Steak, corn on the cob, red potatoes, rolls with drawn butter, and dessert. Kid’s meals for ages 12 and under include turkey sandwiches, chips, fruit, and cookies. There is a full service no host bar with beer, wine, and cocktails. Guests who purchase VIP tickets will enjoy all you can eat lobster and two complimentary drinks. General admission includes one lobster, with additional lobster available for $25 each. Tickets must be purchased in advance. The event is family friendly and organizers would like to encourage parents to bring their kids to the event so the foundation can organize games and activities for youth participants to enjoy.
Live music will provided at Lobsterfest for guests to enjoy by The Pinch Me! Band, an energetic popular local favorite.
The Newport Beach Lobsterfest began in 2009 as a fundraiser for the Costa Mesa and Newport Beach Sunrise Rotary Clubs. Lobsterfest is now its own foundation and the proceeds from the event support programs like Rotary Clubs, Make-A-Wish Foundation, New Directions for Women, and Leadership Tomorrow. The foundation has granted over 5 wishes, and intends to grant one wish every year by offering a donation of $7500.00. Leadership Tomorrow is a community program that educates citizens through a series of workshops over the course of nine months how to establish a network of informed peers, learn creative ways to address community issues, and increase effectiveness as a leader. Participants in the Leadership Tomorrow program go on to make positive impacts in their community. Adults who live and work in Orange County are encouraged to apply.
Come out to support several great causes while enjoying a delicious Lobsterfest!
