Every five years, The Festival of the Arts Laguna Beach hosts the annual Pageant of the Monsters. Don’t miss this spectacle when it comes around. The Festival grounds are transformed into all things eerie with a themed haunted house in The Pageant’s backstage area. The 2018 theme was Raiders of the Lost Art. Guests wandered through workshop labyrinths and behind-the-scenes catacombs on a one of a kind treasure “haunt.” The surrounding festival grounds featured Halloween themed activities including art, music, and games. Guests witnessed an alien autopsy, a demented chef side show, and watched screenings of silent horror films. Activities included mask making, drawing oil pastel Jack O Lanterns, meet and greets with reptiles, playing “BOO Bingo” and so much more. The event is recommended for ages 6 and up, and some areas may be a bit too spooky for the younger crowd. Children 12 and under are invited to wear costumes without masks. Do not bring items that resemble weapons. Costumes and masks are not permitted for anyone over 13. Food is available to purchase at the event. Buy tickets for Pageant of the Monsters online.
