Oktoberfest originated in 1810 and started as a festival celebrating a wedding, Bavarian traditions, and beer brewed within Munich’s city limits. Orange County Elks Lodges
Most of the Orange County Elks Lodges hold Oktoberfest events, also known as Elktoberfest. Usually you have to be a member or a guest of a member but some are open to the public.
Orange County American Legions
Many of the American Legion Chapters host Oktoberfest events as well with proceeds benefitting Veterans organizations. You may need to be a member to attend some events, but several are open to the public, or you can attend as a guest of a member. One such Oktoberfest event is Midway City American Legion Chapter 555.

When does Oktoberfest start and end?
Oktoberfest traditionally run 16 to 18 days and starts mid- or late-September and ends the first Sunday in October.
Why Does Oktoberfest Start in September?
When Oktoberfest began in 1810, it did take place entirely in October. Over time the starting dates were moved because the days were longer the weather was warmer. To keep with tradition the last weekend of modern Oktoberfests almost always takes place in October.
