Garden Amphitheater, also known as Garden Amp, is an outdoor all-ages venue located in Garden Grove. This is a “general admission” venue with over 530 stadium seats and a standing-room-only section in front of the stage. All areas are first come, first served.
This venue features a limited food menu of sliders and fries, and a collection of full bars. Garden Amp was built with two more intimate venues; a 200-seat room called Tree House, and a 100-seat space called The Locker Room for special events and surprise performances.
Seeing Shows At Garden Amp
The Garden Amphitheater box office is open on show day, and all tickets are general admission. This all-ages venue does not permit outside food or drink, but there is a limited menu and full bars in the space. Small bags and purses are allowed. ADA seating options are available upon request but it may be helpful to call ahead if reasonable accommodations are needed.
Lost ticket issues may be resolved by providing name and ID to door staff; this generous venue policy is likely due to the size of Garden Amp; a much larger theater might not be so accommodating but in this particular case you may be able to resolve a lost ticket on show day quickly.
Types of shows at the amphitheater vary, but here is a selection of acts and festivals that have passed through its doors:
- Hawthorne Heights
- Depeche Mode, New Order, and Erasure Tribute
- Katchafire
- Mariachi El Bronx
- Stephen Marley
- Anthony Green
- Monsters of Metal Fest
- Agnostic Front
- Prong
- Pennywise
- Strung Out
- The Casualties
Shows at the Garden Amphitheater are typically booked on weekends but you’ll want to check the show calendar on the official site to get early warning for tickets and announcements.

A Brief History Of Garden Amp
For some 30 years, the Festival Amphitheater, also known as the Strawberry Bowl and, yes, the Garden Amphitheater, was the site of community theater and Shakespeare Orange County. Built in the 1970s, this venue was reimagined in the 21st century as part of a downtown revitalization effort on Main Street in an area known as Village Green Park.
The amphitheater was acquired by LFA Group in 2017–an organization made up of Jon Reiser (previously associated with Detroit Bar in Costa Mesa and Santa Ana’s The Observatory), Viet Tran (former owner of Shark Club in Costa Mesa), and Angel Zaragoza. This group agreed to a decade-long deal with the city and has been putting on shows at Garden Amp since 2019.
