The AMA Supercross at Angel Stadium of Anaheim will feature two racing rounds taking place on Saturday, January 6 and 28, 2024. Speeds vary but you can expect to see competitors going in excess of 60 mph while navigating obstacles, such as jumps, berms, and whoops. How Long is AMA Supercross?
AMA Supercross is about 3 hours in length including the introductions and until all races are complete.
Main Event races for the 450 Class last 20 minutes + 1 lap, and the 250 Class last 15 minutes + 1 lap. A supercross event begins well before rider introductions in the early evening. Practice laps and qualifying heats begin in the afternoon, and coincides with the Monster Energy Supercross FanFest, which is an interactive experience for fans to get an insider’s look at the teams.
At the Supercross FanFest, get an insider’s look as teams prepare, practice, and qualify for the Main Event. Activities include video game rig, pump track, toy play tables, and exhibitions. You can also take photos, visit sponsor displays, and purchase your favorite gear. It’s a part of the Supercross experience that you don’t want to miss.
You must have an event ticket AND either a FanFest Pass (available for purchase when you buy your tickets) or you can recycle an empty Monster Energy can for admission.
You can upgrade your weekend with EPIC VIP Experiences and be a part of a Supercross racing team for the day, have rare access to Friday press rides, walk the track with Supercross legends, see the massive obstacles that challenge the best riders in the world, and much more.
AMA Supercross Point System
Points are only awarded in the Main Events. The top finisher receives 26 points, with 23 for second, 21 for third, 19 for fourth and 18 for fifth. Sixth place receives 17 points, with each place below receiving one point less.
Points earned in Monster Energy AMA Supercross accumulate throughout the season and the rider with the most points after round 17 is the Monster Energy AMA Supercross World Champion.
Points from the Supercross season are added with points from the Pro Motocross season toward the SuperMotocross World Championship.
