Orange County Home Haunts & Yard Displays 2026

Orange County home haunt and Halloween yard display

Orange County residents transform their homes and yards into Halloween displays, walk-through haunts, mazes and spooky neighborhood attractions each fall. This 2026 guide focuses on residential and community-created haunts rather than commercial haunted attractions.

Last updated September 2026. Home-haunt schedules can change quickly. Verify dates, hours and addresses before visiting. Listings with confirmed 2026 dates or a clear 2026 return appear first; others are marked TBA or held until organizer confirmation.

Orange County Halloween Home Decorating Contests 2026

Several Orange County cities and neighborhoods traditionally hold Halloween home decorating contests. 2026 contest dates and entry periods may still be TBA; check the linked city or community page for the current year’s information.

Visiting Orange County Home Haunts

Most home haunts are private residences in active neighborhoods. Visit only during posted operating hours, park legally, do not block driveways, keep noise down and respect private property and neighbors. Dates, hours and weather-related closures can change with little notice.

Orange County Home Haunts FAQs

Are Orange County home haunts free?

Many residential home haunts and yard displays are free, although some accept donations or require reservations. Check each haunt’s current information before visiting.

Are home haunts appropriate for children?

It varies. Some are simple yard displays for all ages, while walk-through attractions may use darkness, actors, jump scares or gore. Use the audience guidance above and check with the haunt if you are visiting with younger children.

When do Orange County home haunts open?

Many operate on selected evenings in October, with the largest number of displays running close to Halloween. Because these are often privately operated, dates and hours vary significantly.

Do home haunts require reservations?

Most yard displays do not, but some walk-through home haunts use timed reservations to control crowds. Haunted Mansion Haunt, for example, requires reservations for its 2026 season.
