The highly anticipated US Open of Surfing is set to take place in Huntington Beach from July 25 – August 2, 2026, featuring exciting surf competitions and the renowned Huntington Beach Longboard Classic. The event promises a fresh lineup of activities, including beach games, food trucks, live music, athlete signings, and more. Stay tuned for more exciting events and activities to be announced.
The US Open of Surfing is one of the biggest annual events in Orange County, drawing around half a million spectators every year. Downtown Huntington Beach has hosted the event since 1959. The surfing competition has transformed into one of the biggest extreme sports festivals in the nation, featuring world-class surfing, and often, skateboarding and BMX competitions.

Surf competitions often include:
WSL Challenger Series
Surfers compete in the Challenger Series to qualify for the Championship Tour as pat of an ten event series. A total of 80 male surfers and 48 female surfers will participate in the six events, vying for points to secure a spot within the Top 10 men and Top 5 women rankings.
Huntington Beach Longboard Classic
Longboard Competition featuring 20 men and 20 women. The first of a four event series in the WSL Longboard World Tour.

Live music on the music stage require separate tickets. Single event or all-show passes are available. This year’s Lexus US Open event features beachfront concerts for three nights:

Surf City Nights
Downtown Huntington Beach’s weekly street fair and farmers market. Check out the fresh produce, products by local artisans, enjoy crafts, games and other kids activities, food trucks, and more. Event is held on Main Street from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Tuesday Night.
Surfers’ Hall of Fame 🏆
