The annual Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival is a two weekend celebration packed with musical performances from a variety of genres, art, activities, camping, late night dancing, and experiences you won’t have anywhere else. Coachella is one of the biggest and most well-known music festivals around the world, drawing over 250,000 attendees.

Coachella began in 1999 with founders Paul Tollett and Rick Van Santen. The first festival was a two day event, headlined by Rage Against The Machine, Beck, and Tool, as well as many other popular acts including Morrissey and Jurassic 5. Although the festival did not return for 2000, it was brought back again in April 2001 as a one day event. Since then, the Festival has continued annually, growing from a single-day event, to a full weekend. In 2012 they added a second weekend, and currently, Coachella is comprised of two 3-day weekends.
In 2003, spectators were allowed to begin camping on the festival grounds at Empire Polo Club during the event. Initially, only tent camping was allowed, but today, they also have options available for car camping, RV parking, offsite lodging, and even a Safari Campgrounds area with furnished tents and yurts.
