Newport Beach Sandcastle Contest 2026
The 64th Annual Newport Beach Sandcastle Contest returns Sunday, September 27, 2026 from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Corona del Mar State Beach. The 2026 theme is Surf, Sand & Sun, celebrating California beach life, waves and surf culture. Experienced builders and first-timers can register a team, while spectators can attend for free to watch the sand sculptures take shape. The event will also feature music, food and kids activities.
Each year, the Newport Beach Sandcastle Contest draws spectators and participants to Corona del Mar. Entrants range from seasoned builders to first-timers, making it an event families, friends, schools, community groups and coworkers can enjoy together.
How to Enter the Sandcastle Contest

Watching the Sandcastle Contest
