You can bet there’s tasty Mexican street fare just eleven minutes away from you or if your appetite is up for the am drive, you can discover esoteric pho houses the next city over.

Of course, traditional fast-food places are ubiquitous, but your 24-hour restaurant choices can soar beyond the Big Mac. The Fast-Food gastronomic gate keepers have 100% leveled up their menus with options, options, and more options. It’s a huge win for all appetites. Orange County has evolved into a mecca of after-hour eateries and late night eats. Sweet tooth bandits and food safari riders can discover something sensational and satisfying anytime of the day (or night) in the OC.

Arsenio’s Mexican Food

Arsenio’s offer more than just great Mexican food after hours, much more. It’s South OC’s go to restaurant when you’re looking for Mexican favorites with American options. There’s no doubt that the carne asada burritos are delicious, but you can also order pancakes on the side. The street tacos are loaded with meat and the salsas are from scratch, making all the difference.

There is even a great kid’s menu. Arsenio’s is fast and a go to gem for 24hr eating.

Carl’s Jr.

Still claiming to have the best charbroiled burgers around, Carl’s Jr. continues to offer all the classics like the Famous Star and the California Classic Double Cheeseburger. Try the pumped-up series of Famous Star Burgers like the Fiery Famous Star, the Triple Fiery Famous Star or find out what the Beyond Famous Star is all about. Carl’s Jr has a spicy Jalapeño Burger that’s destined to crank up your midnight cravings. Swing by for the variety of hand breaded chicken sandwiches or the forever favorite chicken stars. Castaneda’s Mexican Food

Castaneda’s Mexican Food is open 24hrs in the OC and offers premium tacos and plenty of seafood options. Castaneda’s is home to the famous Carne Asada French Fries. Loaded fries with plenty of meat makes this a top pick at Castaneda’s. Try the fish burrito or the chicken wrap burrito. Get daring and order the Famous Congo Burrito.

Del Taco

Del Taco is Cali-Mex fast-food grub at its best. There is always something new and crazy yummo to try! Order the new Pinata Strawberry Shake or Strawberry Sprite. Try the new Chicken BLT or Carne Asada & Queso Torta! What’s a Torta? That’s the point! Cruise up and have fun trying one. Prefer the classics? Try ordering from the Del Taco Secret Menu.

There is also a cool App to download and earn points for free food. The menu is like a big-league stadium game buffet with crazy portions and everything is full of cheese! There is even a fabulous iced coffee on the menu now. Order up a Prima Java Ice Coffee that is boasted to be sweet and creamy and its Rainforest Alliance Certified. Of course, you can find the favorite soft tacos, but at 2 am make it worth the drive!

Most Del Taco locations are 24 hours, but there are a few exceptions to that rule. Use the store locator or call ahead to check the hours if you are unsure.

The Donuttery

The Donuttery is a sweet tooth wonderland. What an amazing 24hr donut shop. Sometimes you’re craving chocolate or red velvet cake. Here is the divine spot. Donuts for miles and amazing flavors that are on trend for all diets. The Donuttery offers Keto, Vegan, and Gluten-friendly options! Best sellers include the Chocolate Mint Chip, Red Velvet Cream Cheese, and the Bacon Maple Bar. It’s a lovely, unfussy joint offering coffee and many specialty treats.

Jack In the Box

Jack in The Box is not clowning around with their 24hr menu. Jack’s menu is full of burgers, tacos, and shakes. The Jumbo Jack is still around, but new favorites keep the menu exciting. It’s the most diverse menu in the fast-food chain market.

Jack is featuring the return of the Monster Taco and the Double Bonus Jack Burger. He also offers limited time seasonal options like the Halloween’s The Basic Witch Shake. The Basic Witch Shake is filled with pumpkin spice and Oreo cookies. Have a blast after the party with a box of mini tacos. They are fun and easy to share. Sides and French fries at Jacks are plentiful, with the breaded onion rings being our top choice in the OC. They are Panko perfect.

Most Jack In The Box locations are open 24 hours. If you are unsure, call ahead or check the store locator before heading out.

McDonald’s

Who doesn’t love McDonald’s perfect French fries at 12 am? It’s just a staple of the American diet and let’s be proud of this international icon. The menu hasn’t changed much; the top favorite burgers and combo deals are easy to choose from. McDonald’s has even entered the spicy chicken sandwich game. Have you tried the flavored coffees? They really are giving the premium coffee houses something to worry about, especially when pockets are feeling a little light these days. There’s always a great deal at Mickey D’s and if you download their App, you can earn free eats!

Phó Thanh Restaurant

Tired of street tacos after midnight? Pho Than is open 24hrs and the menu is packed with delicious Pho varieties. This hidden treasure restaurant in Westminster is a must try for pho fanatics. The fare is fresh and authentic, bringing you back for the ample portions. The Filet Mignon platters are loaded and cooked perfectly. The menu is an awesome value and Pho Thanh has the best Vietnamese pork chops in the area! Located in Little Saigon, this is a must try OC gem.

Phó Vie Restaurant

Pho Vie offers a 24-hour menu that is a definite crowd pleaser. Located in Garden Grove, this little restaurant is charming and lively. It’s a definite destination for those seeking vegetarian/vegan pho. It’s their soft vegetables and home-made tofu broth that makes it totally worth another visit from any other city in the OC. Our bonus favorite is the Thai Tea. Service is fast and friendly.

Ronaldo’s Taco Shop

It’s 430 am in South Orange County and you’re driving your bestie to LAX; you’re both cold craving soup. Head to Ronaldo’s for their incredible Mexican Pozole soup or their signature red menudo soup. Nothing can feel more romantic on a cold early morning than enjoying spicy Mexican soup with great company. Ronaldo’s is open 24hrs and offers the best pozole in town. If you’re in the mood for quesadillas or taquitos, then you’re in the right place. Ronaldo’s is a simple place with loads of Mexican options. If you’re just looking for dessert, come for the yummy warm churros or the awesome cheesecake.

Subway

Subway has all the tasty foot longs, all day long. Ride in for the Subway Series Sandwiches, the Subway Melt Collection or the satisfying classics. Maybe you are watching your carbs and at 3:11 am you don’t want to eat bread, so what do you order? Order the new Avocado Spike Bowl! Subway has introduced the no bread bowl options that are unique and delicious.

Taqueria HOY!

Taqueria Hoy! is new on the Mexican fast-food scene. It’s actually the rebranding of De Anda Tacos by founder Rafael De Anda. They have returned to their classic roots and are focusing on a more simplified menu delivering a more authentic taste. At Taqueria Hoy! You can now build your own tacos and burritos with carne asada, al pastor, carnitas, Buche, cabeza, lengua, chicken and chorizo using fresh tortillas. House made salsas are made fresh from scratch. Order a plate and enjoy your creation with traditional beans and rice. There’re no better chips and guac after midnight in the OC.

Victory Diner

Victory Diner is a new 24hr restaurant that has popped up on the OC map for great fast-food. Although not a chain just yet, we believe it won’t be long before we see them in your neighborhood soon. Monday and Tuesday hours are just a bit shy of the 24 hr. operating hours, but it deserves to be on the list. Burgers, tacos, and pancakes can be served all day long! There’s something for everyone. The Fly Burgers are the local favorites with the Pineapple Express and Chili Joe being the best sellers. Yes, they serve breakfast burritos all day long. Victory Diner focuses on fresh ingredients and ample portions. The atmosphere is upbeat and there is plenty of seating. You can’t lose when showing up to eat at Victory Diner.

There was a time Orange County residents had to drive into LA to eat at great 24-hour diners and specialty delis. Times have certainly changed. Having several 24hr. restaurants that offer fresh and varied fare in Orange County is great news for many who work odd shifts and travelers alike. It’s fantastic news for the after hours cravers club, too. The gas station buffets are becoming graveyard kitchens and what a relief! The OC is now on trend with 24hr. eclectic eateries and now welcomes plenty of curious LA epicurean wizards to our specialty restaurants.
